What’s your favorite Bible verse and why does it speak to you?
My favorite verse is Joshua 1:9. It tells us to be strong and courageous and to not be discouraged for the Lord will be with you. It is a powerful reminder that you do not face life’s uncertainties, fears, or transitions on your own.
How did you know God was calling you to be a teacher?
I have always had a passion to connect with students and to be an example of a Christian teacher for students
What’s a hymn or worship song that always lifts your spirit?
Chris Tomlin’s song “Holy Forever” always lifts me up and reminds me of God’s greatness.

What’s your favorite Bible verse and why does it speak to you?
Psalm 103:1-3
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy. Who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
This verse is important to me because it reminds who God is. Our feelings and thoughts do not always lead us in the right direction. We can wake up worried or discouraged, frustrated, overwhelmed, and question ourselves. The verse tells me to turn my attention to God. The verse reminds me to remember what God has already brought me, though, and it did not destroy me; God has used different situations in my life for good and has continued to carry me through. He tells me not to beat myself up over sins or mistakes that he is a loving and forgiving God.
What’s your favorite Bible story, and why?
My Favorite Bible story is the story of Job. I admire Job because he went through so many trials and hardships, yet he continued to have faith in God. He lost his children, his possessions, and his health, and experienced tremendous suffering. Even though he did not understand why these things were happening he kept his faith.
Job’s story reminds me that having faith does not mean that we will not experience challenging times. It means we need to continue to trust in God even when we do not understand what he is doing. Job’s strength and perseverance inspire me to grow stronger in my own faith and become more like him.
What is your prayer for your students this year?
My prayer for my students this year is that they will learn and grow to the best of their ability, but most importantly, that they will seek God in every situation. I pray that whether they are happy, sad, frustrated, or facing challenges, they will know they can turn to God and trust Him. I want to encourage them to grow in their faith, show kindness to others, and remember that God loves them and is always with them. I also pray that I can be a positive influence and help guide them both academically and spiritually.
