Brandt Lockhart named head boys basketball and baseball coach at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Granbury

Brandt Lockhart has been named the head boys basketball and baseball coach at Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Lockhart has been the varsity head basketball coach at Joshua High School for the past seven years. Prior to that, he served as the head varsity coach at Clarendon for seven years and Bridgeport for six years. 

In 2021 Lockhart led Joshua to the playoffs for the first time in 39 years while being named Johnson County coach of the year. In 2022 he led Joshua back to the playoffs and Joshua’s first 20 win season in 40 years. Before Joshua, Lockhart led Clarendon to the playoffs six times. During that time, Clarendon had two state appearances, highlighted with a 2017 State Runner-up. Lockhart was named Panhandle Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2017. 

Lockhart has seven years of baseball experience as a Varsity assistant. He helped lead Clarendon to three district championships, three bi-district championships, two area championships and one regional quarter finals championship.

He also has 25 years experience teaching history.

Lockhart has a bachelor’s degree from McMurry University where he played basketball and met his wife Debby. Brandt and Debby have two children, Ashley (31) and Chance (26).
